Robotic General Gynaecological Surgery is now available in Ipswich.
Dr Siva has taken a massive step forward to bring greater benefits of robotic surgery by going through specialised training in robotic surgery.
According to the RCOG Scientific Impact Paper in 2022 on robotic gynaecological surgery, a robot is considered safe and a more effective surgical tool than conventional keyhole surgery for women who must undergo complex gynaecology surgery or have associated medical issues such as obesity.
Robotic surgery, compared with conventional keyhole surgery, improves surgical performance without increasing operating time, minimises blood loss and intra- or postoperative complications, while reducing the need to revert to abdominal surgery.
Technical benefits of robotic surgery are limitation of tremor, three-dimensional high definition viewing leading to improved depth perception, greater precision, and discrimination of tissues. Potential limitation of the increased cost may not be applicable to women with private health cover.
